Meshari F. Alwashmi of BreatheSuite accepted into Forbes Technology Council

Forbes Technology Council Is an Invitation-Only Community for World-Class CIOs, CTOs, and Technology Executives.

St. John’s, NL, Canada – April 19, 2022 Dr. Meshari F. Alwashmi, the Chief Scientific Officer of BreatheSuite, a Canadian connected respiratory health company, has been accepted into Forbes Technology Council, an invitation-only community for world-class CIOs, CTOs, and technology executives.

Dr. Alwashmi was vetted and selected by a review committee based on the depth and diversity of his experience. Criteria for acceptance include a track record of successfully impacting business growth metrics, as well as personal and professional achievements and honors.

In his role as CSO, Dr. Alwashmi is helping BreatheSuite improve the lives of people living with chronic respiratory conditions such as asthma and COPD. Approximately 90% of people using a metered-dose inhaler (MDI) for a respiratory condition don’t use it correctly. BreatheSuite is working to change this, and Dr. Alwashmi leads its research and development efforts. In 2021, BreatheSuite secured 510(K) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its BreatheSuite MDI device for both prescription and over-the-counter use. Dr. Alwashmi has been instrumental in enabling the company to meet its clinical goals by conducting usability and clinical trials, one of which found that the BreatheSuite connected health device can detect approximately 40% (143/360) more errors compared to pharmacist observation alone. In addition to the FDA clearance, he has played a vital role in the company’s securement of regulatory clearances from Health Canada and ethic boards.

“We are honored to welcome Dr. Alwashmi into the community,” said Scott Gerber, founder of Forbes Councils, the collective that includes Forbes Technology Council. “Our mission with Forbes Councils is to bring together proven leaders from every industry, creating a curated, social capital-driven network that helps every member grow professionally and make an even greater impact on the business world.”

As an accepted member of the Council, Meshari has access to a variety of exclusive opportunities designed to help him reach peak professional influence. He will connect and collaborate with other respected local leaders in a private forum. Meshari will also be invited to work with a professional editorial team to share his expert insights in original business articles on, and to contribute to published Q&A panels alongside other experts.

Finally, Dr. Alwashmi will benefit from exclusive access to vetted business service partners, membership-branded marketing collateral, and the high-touch support of the Forbes Councils member concierge team.

“I am excited to join the Forbes Technology Council,” said Dr. Meshari Alwashmi. “What I’m looking forward to most is collaborating with peers and industry leaders as we share our experiences and knowledge. To be associated with Forbes is prestigious and I look forward to sharing my thoughts and recommendations so other connected health and digital health companies can benefit from our experience.”
